Five Reasons Why You Should Come Meet Pierce Brown in Edinburgh

Pierce Brown, the author of the mind-blowing 'Red Rising' trilogy, is doing his first ever UK tour later this month to promote the release of 'Morning Star', the last book in the series. The Edinburgh event will take place on the 24th of February at 6.30pm, at the Edinburgh Academy. The event is absolutely free but tickets need to be booked here or by getting in touch with the Edinburgh Bookshop!
If you are currently residing here, in the land of the Haggis and top notch whiskey, and this is the first you are hearing of it, go and pick up your planner, your phone, whichever your reminding device of choice is, and write this date down.

Do it.

I'll wait.

Got it?

Now that that's out of the way, I thought I would put a list together of a few of the reasons why coming to the Edinburgh event is the best decision you will be making since your New Years resolutions!

1. Bragging Rights

In a couple of years, after the movie adaptation has become the hit that it definitely deserves to be and the series has completely blown up, you definitely want to be able to say that you were at the first ever event in Scotland.

People say bragging isn't nice, I prefer to think that it just shows how awesome you are!

2. The Venue

We get the most 'Red Rising' appropriate venue of all time. I mean, just look at it:

If you can't tell by the picture, that's Latin over the pillars. The Howler in me rejoiced when I saw it, and that's not even considering how beautiful it looks inside. Shallow reason or not, if not even the venue is boring, do you really want to miss what's gonna happen inside those doors?

3. Edinburgh is a beautiful city

This point is for those of you that might be considering a day trip to the capital to attend the event. I am not the most traveled person in the world, but as a foreigner living here for the past three years this is one of my all time favorite cities. For cheap travel I would definitely recommend Megabus, they offer great prices and a lot of services from all over the UK! You can try and squeeze in this view before the event...

4. For the Fans, by the Fans

I doubt you will get anyone more passionate, more knowledgeable, and more of a Howler directing a 'Red Rising' event than the wonderful Cat from the Edinburgh Bookshop. She has been riding this bandwagon since before it was even a thing and I have never met anyone that loves this series as much as she does. If you are going to the event with a blank slate regarding these books, I guarantee that she will make a fan (the aforementioned 'Howler') out of you!

5. Pierce Brown (duh)

This seems rather obvious, doesn't it? Not only do you get to meet a New York Times Bestselling author and get your books signed by him (there will be some available for sale at the event!), but you will also have this awesome, hilarious human being in the same room as you!

By now I expect you have picked up your planner again and heavily underlined the 24th of February as a 'Do Not Miss'. Hope to see you there!
