'A Gathering of Shadows' Blog Tour - Victoria's Favorite Characters in the Series and Why!

I am incredibly excited to bring you today the last stop in the 'A Gathering of Shadows' Blog Tour!

'A Gathering of Shadows' is the second book in the 'Shades of Magic' series by V.E. Schwab. The first book, 'A Darker Shade of Magic', brought us the Traveller Kell and his misadventures through parallel universes.

Check out the synopsis for 'A Darker Shade of Magic' here, or if you are already caught up, here is the one for 'A Gathering of Shadows', out now!
For today's post, Victoria shares with us who her favorite characters in the series are and why, along with a little artistic treat!

 ------------------------------------------------------------

It’s always such an impossible task—like choosing between children—and people expect me to say Kell or Lila, since the series is arguably their show, but honestly, my favorite character in the Shades of Magic series is the prince, Kell’s adopted brother, Rhy Maresh.

One of the only characters without an affinity for magic, Rhy spends the series fighting to find his own strength, his own presence. Add to that his sexuality, which is pretty fluid, his relationship with his ex-boyfriend, whom we meet in 'A Gathering of Shadows', his wealth of witty comebacks and his devotion to Kell, and he’s just a delight to write. I hope readers enjoy the prince as much as I do.

Plus, a bonus as Victoria shares some of her favorite fan art pieces so far…

1. Holland and the Dane twins by Victoria Ying

2. Kell and Rhy, by Marty-MC

3. Kell and black magic by Julie

4. Amazing bookmarks by Happy Hello Art on Etsy

-----------------------------------------

Victoria is the product of a British mother, a Beverly Hills father, and a southern upbringing. Because of this, she has been known to say "tom-ah-toes," "like," and "y'all."

She also tells stories.

She loves fairy tales, and folklore, and stories that make her wonder if the world is really as it seems.

When she is not haunting Paris streets or trudging up English hillsides, she's usually tucked in the corner of a coffee shop, dreaming up monsters.
